Free Community Event in Brooklyn to Address Suicide Prevention with Arabic Translation

On April 21, 2025, United Way of New York City, in collaboration with the Arab American Association of New York, will host a Free Lunch and Learn event focused on suicide prevention. The session is part of the Connect2Care Preventative Care Access Initiative and will run from 9 AM to 12 PM at Beit El Maqdis, located at 6206 6th Avenue in Brooklyn, NY.

This free community event will include Arabic language translation to ensure accessibility for Arabic-speaking residents. In addition to the educational session, attendees will receive a complimentary lunch as part of the program.
The initiative is supported by the New York State Department of Health, Assemblymember Marcela Mitaynes, and the New York State Senate, underscoring the importance of mental health resources and culturally inclusive care.
