Interview with MSSI:

Purpose of Eid Funday ( AKA) community  Eid Celebration) : Is to promote the tenants of our faith with us .We have been doing the Eid  celebration for about  10 years.   The first few years was we  collaborated with another non- profit called Baitul Jamaat. Having the events on Staten Island . MSSI first Eid event took place at On your Mark on Victory Blvd. It was an indoor event. Attended by Muslims on and off the island. Then we partnered with Baitul Jamaat , It was the called Community Eid Celebration. Our first was at  the camp grounds on manor road. The for the  3 years after that, we had it at south beach , Walker park  and Corporal Thompson Park.  Then in  2020, we decided to partner with  a local  school PS 68 in order to have the event in a central area. Except in 2022 when we did it at snug harbor. With the same premise of inviting all the beautiful teachings of Islam by  showing our community that we are loving caring members of the community. We are good neighbors and friends.  This event is inclusive to children.
